PayPal acquires mobile app developer Duff Research

E-payments giant PayPal has acquired mobile app development firm Duff Research to work on its mobile and digital wallet. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

PayPal CTO James Barrese announced the acquisition in a post on The PayPal Blog.

“Last year, we began developing all of our products with a mobile-first mentality to drive engaging, simple customer experiences,” Barrese wrote.  

“As PayPal continues to be a leader in mobile payments, we are looking for talented engineers with proven mobile experience to help us imagine, develop and deliver products our customers love.

“Today, I’m pleased to announce that Duff Research – a group of award-winning mobile app developers – has been acquired by PayPal. This talented team of engineers will be joining the PayPal technology team to help us build creative and simple ways for our customers to use the PayPal digital wallet.”

Duff Research is a provider of full service mobile app development and user experience for brands and start-ups.

“PayPal is giving our team the opportunity to transform an industry and enhance people’s daily lives with technology,” Barrese cited Duff Research as having said.
