As Slack officially opened its new offices at Dublin’s Hatch Street, we got an insider look at the chic, loft-style space.

Last night (17 January), Slack hosted the official opening of its new offices at One Park Place, Hatch Street, Dublin.

The offices were designed by the local ODOS Architects, drawing inspiration from the streets of Dublin.

“Unlike major cities throughout the world, Dublin’s format is not based on grids and blocks,” said architect David O’Shea. “Its streets meander and flow through the city, creating unique meeting points and venues, and for some reason it works really well.

“We replicated that feel with curves throughout the office – including curvy walkways – and we’ve used a lot of plants to help bring in that outside feeling even more strongly.”

Slack has had its EMEA headquarters in Dublin for nearly two years, and this office is emblematic of the company’s commitment to the city.

With space for 100 additional employees – to join the 50 already on its staff – the new offices will accommodate Slack’s European customer experience, sales and business operations teams.

Minister for Jobs Mary Mitchell O’Connor, TD, was present at the opening, alongside Slack co-founder Stewart Butterfield.
