Tango Telecom opens Mexican office

28 Aug 2007

Tango Telecom has announced the opening of a Latin America regional support and sales office in Mexico.

The company, which provides real-time convergent charging and intelligent messaging software, said the office will initially host a mix of local Mexican and Irish Tango employees. It expects to strengthen the local employee base significantly over the next 12 months.

“Following on from our success with operators such as America Movil and Iusacell, we have seen a real market demand for our messaging and charging solutions in Latin America, specifically our Mobile Data Charging and SMS VAS solutions,” said Richard Choi, vice-president of sales and marketing at Tango Telecom. “The opening of an office in Latin America will enable us to take advantage of this tremendous growth opportunity.

“In order to protect their revenues and minimise churn, operators need to ensure that they are being responsive to their subscribers’ demands for innovative services. Our iAX Solution Portfolio is a flexible and comprehensive product suite for GSM, CDMA and fixed networks that will enable operators to rapidly launch new services to their subscribers with minimal disturbance to their existing services or networks.”

Tango Telecom also announced it will be exhibiting at the 3GSM 3G Middle East & Gulf event in Dubai in September.

In April Mexico’s largest mobile operator Iusacell signed a major deal with Tango Telecom to roll out Tango’s charging system for its pre- and post-paid data services.
