Telecoms firm creates 10 new tech jobs

Communications player Complete Telecom is to create 10 new technology and sales jobs at its Dublin headquarters to facilitate regional expansion.

The bulk of the new posts will be in engineering and support departments, with the remainder made up of business development, technical sales and pre-sales staff.

Recruitment will start immediately. Complete said it expects to have all 10 new employees in place by the end of September.

Complete Telecom recently installed a 1Gbps link for Government Networks, and became the first telecoms company to offer a 10Gbps connection in Ireland.

Complete’s founder and managing director, Kevin Murphy (pictured), explained recently that the high speeds were due to the company’s decision to focus exclusively on infrastructure for the business market, as opposed to catering for a consumer base at the same time.

A new partnership with Cidway, the mobile authentication specialist, is driving significant additional business in the IT security market.

Complete announced in February that it would invest more than €3m over the coming years in a 200km extension to its fibre network, complementing its extensive existing Dublin fibre rings.

“While this is a difficult economic environment for many companies, at Complete Telecom we’re finding that our services are more in demand than ever before,” said Murphy.

“Many companies are looking to further consolidate their voice and data networking and telecoms requirements.”
