Irish e-payments company Trintech has signed a deal to roll out its PayWare Merchant technology for the De Vere Hotels chain, across 35 hotels throughout the UK.

PayWare Merchant will be used to process all card payment transactions from De Vere’s 35 locations across the UK and Jersey. The most notable amongst these is the De Vere Belfry hotel, famous throughout the world for its links with golf’s Ryder Cup.

PayWare Merchant is Trintech’s latest generation payment server that enables merchants to accept card payments and perform rapid online payment authorisation from any sales or order processing system. PayWare Merchant integrates seamlessly with electronic point-of-sale devices, call centre systems, websites and other business systems.

PayWare Merchant will enable De Vere Hotels to authorise card payments locally and commit funds centrally at the company’s headquarters in Daresbury. PayWare Merchant is designed to provide faster authorisations with less time queuing for guests, easier reconciliation of transactions, central and local reporting, as well as providing support for multiple business channels.

“As a premier resort operator in the UK and Jersey, we require payment systems that are fast, efficient and cost-effective,” explained Ed Sygrove, information systems manager at De Vere’s. “By implementing this Trintech solution we are in a position to provide our customers with the excellent service standards they expect from us, while satisfying our own internal cost and efficiency requirements.”
