A Dublin-based technology company has created 15 jobs on the back of the launch of a new managed service for SMEs.
The 15 high-quality jobs will be integral to a new service that aims to provide proactive and integrated management of customers’ entire IT operations, and is targeted at Irish companies with between 10 and 100 employees.
The launch of Typetec TRUSt has been made possible due to a major investment, including the development of a new managed platform, at Typetec’s Network Management Centre (NMC) in Dublin.
The first posts have just been filled, and the rest are expected to be filled during 2008 and 2009. The new positions will increase Typetec’s employee count by more than 30pc.
“High-tech jobs, such as those being created today by Typetec, are the best source of future growth in the Irish workforce,” said Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade & Employment, Mary Coughlan TD.
“As we move towards a fully knowledge-based economy, it is vital we continue to expand our high-tech services industry. Typetec TRUSt is an excellent example of the type of innovative service that will improve and grow our technological base.”
The new service enables real-time analyses that can intelligently predict problems within the infrastructure and put proactive fixes in place. The system can also monitor backups and disaster recovery plans to ensure that, if the worst happens, business interruption is minimised.
“IT environments have grown in complexity in recent years, even for smaller companies – thus the need for SMEs to employ IT staff has grown considerably,” said Tom Close, managing director of Typetec.
“However, many companies find they dedicate all their IT resources to managing day-to-day problems rather than addressing the broader issues that bring direct benefits to the business.
“We’ve already seen a trend for larger companies to outsource routine IT operations to allow for better strategic management, and our new Typetec TRUSt service makes it viable for the SME sector too,” Close added.
