Scientific digital camera maker Andor Technology has landed a deal worth €3m in original equipment manufacturer (OEM) business in the US.
The company, which specialises in scientific imaging and spectroscopy, decided only this year to target OEM sales in the US, which meant increasing its investment in sales, production and support for OEMs.
The strategy has proven successful, with the addition of a number of significant new OEM partners and increases in both sales and bookings in Andor’s other markets.
One newly won OEM account alone is expected to deliver nearly US$3m in incremental business during the financial year 2009.
“Since commencing our US operations in 1997 with our regional headquarters in Connecticut, the company has experienced growth in all regions and in multiple research application areas and OEM segments,” said Chris Calling, president of Andor US.
“These recent OEM wins demonstrate a more secure balance of revenues between the research markets and OEM instruments sector. This creates even more opportunities for future growth, and we look forward to maintaining this momentum,” Calling said.
