US firm acquires Limerick HR software firm

4 Aug 2004

Limerick-based ITS Information Technology Systems, whose HR software is used by more than 200 companies across Ireland, has been acquired by US software company Ceridian for an undisclosed sum.

Under the terms of the agreement, Minneapolis-based Ceridian Corporation will acquire 100pc of the share capital of ITS, which will henceforth be known as Ceridian ITS.

According to a statement all employees of ITS will retain their positions in selling software and supporting 200 companies across Ireland that use ITS’s HR software products HRMS, Visual HR and Source.

The president of Ceridian International Bruce Thew commented: “Our acquisition of ITS demonstrates Ceridian’s commitment to the future success of the Irish market for HR services, where we have already established a firm base of clients through our managed payroll services.

“Ceridian ITS enlarges the global reach of Ceridian International, in line with our strategy to change the world of work by becoming the leading global provider of managed HR solutions that maximise the value of people.”

The acquisition completed the transfer internationally of all of ITS’s businesses to Ceridian, a process that began in 1999 with ITS in the UK.

As a result of the deal all software delivered and supported by ITS in Ireland will be covered under license by Ceridian, a US HR software company that counts 3,000 customers across the US, the UK, Ireland and the Caribbean.
