IT services firm Xpert Technology has acquired UK-based Genesis Telecommunications for an undisclosed sum. Newly-appointed CEO of Xpert, Basil Bailey said that the acquisition was strategically timed and meets market requirements for a “one-stop shop” for services and skills in the data, voice and storage markets.

Genesis is one of the UK’s leading telecoms solutions providers and has worked with major corporations to implement telephony solutions in projects ranging from implementing messaging systems to fitting out entire contact centres. The company also has a presence in Ireland and specialises in Avaya communications technologies as well as implementing IT systems for contact centres based on the Rockwell FirstPoint Contact Management System, the Talisma Contact Centre and related CRM suites and the Blue Pumpkin Workforce Management solution.

“Xpert in the UK has particular experience in IP telephony, while in Ireland we are unmatched in our networking and storage capabilities,” said Bailey. “With the acquisition of Genesis, we can now offer a compelling story in the convergence marketplace to deliver unified communications to existing and new customers here in Ireland and in the UK.” He added that the deal fits the company’s long-term strategy of both organic and acquisitive growth.

Headquartered in Dublin, with offices across Ireland and the UK, Xpert Group was established in 1995 and employs 170 people involved in a broad array of technologies and related services.
