Internet giant Yahoo! is losing its top executive for media. Mickie Rosen, senior vice-president of global media, is leaving the company she has been with for more than two years on Friday.
Yahoo!’s board will also see departures, as of 31 July: Third Point investor Daniel Loeb and two associates at the hedge fund, who have sold 40m shares.
At Yahoo!, Rosen’s portfolio included content sites for finance, sports and news.
She isn’t leaving Yahoo! for another job from the looks of it, and Yahoo! has no one in line to replace her, AllThingsD reported.
“We will continue to invest in a model that spans the entire spectrum of content from premium to mid-tier and UGC — personalised for users and curated by our expert editorial team,” Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer and COO Henrique De Castro said in an internal memo about Rosen’s departure.
Rosen’s departure may signal others to come, according to AllThingsD, as stock options have vested recently for some top executives, including some who aren’t part of Mayer’s coterie.
