Ariel Waldman book ‘What’s it like in Space?’ hits bookshelves

26 Jan 2016

Ever wondered what it’s like to be in space? Well, former Inspirefest speaker Ariel Waldman has gotten in touch with those who’ve been and done it to find out.

Ariel Waldman was one of the ‘stars’ (pun completely intended) of the show at Inspirefest last year, where she spoke of how the 2008 documentary When We Left Earth inspired her to pursue a career in anything to do with space, despite having no background in engineering or astrophysics.

Having spent a number of years at NASA, Ariel now tours the world informing audiences about the wonders of space, as well as encouraging others to do something similar to her and seek out space-related careers, regardless of their background.Upside down Ariel Waldman

Now, in her first consumer book, What’s It Like in Space?: Stories from Astronauts Who’ve Been There, she is hoping to connect the reader with the stories of those who have gone past our atmosphere and into the depths of space.

The light-hearted book has around 60 short vignettes of stories from astronauts – both past and present – about the weird, unusual, embarrassing, funny and awe-inspiring moments they’ve had in space.
