The new EasySmart switch by D-Link is geared toward SMEs with scalable data and aims to reduce their power consumption.

The switch provides SMEs with a fully-featured, managed wireless network at low cost and maintenance.

The DGS-1100 series comply with the new IEEE 802.3az energy efficient Ethernet (EEE) standard. It combines gigabit Ethernet switching with the most up-to-date energy-saving technology.

The company said the product reduces power consumption by switching into a low-power state during periods of low network usage, without disrupting the connection.

“The easy installation and range of features of the DGS-1100 removes the barrier of entry for managing networks and ensures that employees will be able to access the network, transfer large files and use online services without loss of speed or quality,” said D-Link UK & Ireland general manager Chris Davies.

The EasySmart range is available in both a 16 and 24-port version, with prices starting at stg£129.99.

The company also offers the Ethernet Web Smart DES-1210 series, which is designed for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) seeking to construct a secure and productive network environment at a reasonable price.

The DES-1210-08P and DES-1210-28P provide power over Ethernet (PoE) functionality and management capability.

“The release of Web Smart further increases the breadth of our switches portfolio and reaffirms our commitment to providing small businesses with reliable, cost-effective and easy-to-use networking products,” Davies said.

Cost of the Web Smart Switches start at £168.99.
