Innovation wins out at Eircom Spider awards

The winners of the Eircom Spider Awards were announced last night at Dublin’s Burlington Hotel.

The ceremony, hosted by funnyman Jimmy Carr, were presented across 20 categories and notable winners were Dylan Collins – voted 2010 Internet Hero by a judging panel; Fota Wildlife, which scooped the Grand Prix and Travel and Tourism award; as well as the two public choice awards, which went to Humphrey Jones and Jeremy Stone (The Bigmouth Category) and www.tattoo.tv.

Innovation and creativity

Stephen Beynon, chairman of the judging panel for the awards and group managing director, consumer and small business, Eircom, said that innovation and creativity won out on the night and it was proof we must continue to support out pool of talent.

“Congratulations to each and every winner. I really do believe that it’s important to focus on the positive and to reward innovation and creativity wherever and whenever we can.

“Ireland has a huge pool of talent within the Irish internet and digital media sector and we must continue to support and foster this talent in every way we can.”
