The Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Conor Lenihan TD, has said the performance of participants in Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) will have a direct bearing on investors and multinational employers in Ireland.

The minister made the comments today in advance of the SFI Science Summit in Athlone, the theme of which is ‘Mining Minds – A New Decade of Discovery’.

More than 300 of Ireland’s leading scientific researchers will be present at this year’s two-day strategic think-in and Lenihan believes that performance is key.

“The performance of Science Foundation Ireland-funded researchers and their commercial partners has a clear bearing on how Ireland is perceived internationally and directly influences aspiring investors and prospective multinational employers,” said Lenihan.
