First set of graduates from DCU's enterprise computing programme, with Prof Joseph Morris and Dr Rory O'Connor, programme chairs
A new undergraduate programme set up at Dublin City University’s (DCU) School of Computing in 2008 to help tackle the skills gap in the ICT sector has produced its first set of graduates.
The four-year BSc in enterprise computing was devised at the university to help equip students with business acumen, as well as high-tech skills and to make them more employable when they graduate.
DCU’s president Brian McCraith presented the first 26 graduates with their parchments recently.
According to DCU, 20 of the new graduates are already placed in industry, with their employers including multinationals, such as Goldman Sachs, Colgate Palmolive, IBM, Deloitte & Touche and CitiGroup.
Around 40 students are expected to emerge from the enterprise computing course next year.
