Dr Hermann Hauser
Dr Hermann Hauser, the serial tech entrepreneur most renowned for having co-founded Acorn Computers in 1978, will be giving a lecture at UCD next week titled, ‘Innovation, the Only Game in the West’.
Hauser, who is also a co-founder of the venture capital firm Amadeus Capital Partners, joined the board of the Dublin-based Intune Networks as a non-executive director earlier this year. Amadeus had invested in Intune Networks in 2008.
Among his entrepreneurial exploits, Hauser was involved in the spin-out of what is now known as ARM Holdings from Acorn Computers, following the development of the forerunner of the ARM processor.
Based in Cambridge in the UK, other companies that Hauser has either founded or co-founded include Active Book Company, Virata, Net Products and NetChannel.
In 1997 he co-founded Amadeus Capital Partners.
In the UK, Hauser also serves as a member of the Prime Minister’s Council for Science and Technology.
As for UCD’s innovation lecture, it will take place at UCD Newman House, St Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2 on Wednesday, 19 September, from 12-2pm.
