Swedish company purchases biofuel bus fleet

2 Nov 2010

A Sweden-based bus company is set to purchase a new fleet of biofuel busses supplied by manufacturer Volvo.

Vargardbuss is to increase the size of its fleet with the acquisition of 11 buses that operate with methane/diesel technology from Volvo buses.

According to biofuels international, the buses are conventional, diesel-powered vehicles containing gas tanks that inject into the engine to generate a combination of fuel and air.

Both engines can operate independently of one another if either one becomes depleted.

The order includes the Volvo 8500 intercity bus model.
