In the week International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated, Coding Grace is to host a data mini-conference in Dogpatch Labs on Saturday, 12 March for all to attend.

It’s been a busy week for the gang over at Coding Grace, with it having already held a major event on IWD itself, specifically, the Diversity in Gaming event held at Dogpatch Labs in the IFSC, Dublin.

The event on 8 March featured some of the leading women within the Irish gaming industry coming together to highlight what women are bringing to the table in terms of games development.

Now, Dogpatch Labs will host another conference from Coding Grace, which has partnered with Dublin R User Group, Women in R Taskforce, Women Who Code Dublin and Dublin Data Science for Beginners.

From R to advertising

The free event will be made up of a series of talks and organised data workshops, so bring along your laptops for a day of learning and sharing.

Speakers at the mini-conference include Zalando’s Ana Peleteiro, who will give an overview of data science as a field.

This will be followed by Matina Thomaidou, a senior data scientist at IBM, who will talk about the challenges of data science within online advertising, as well as Mick Cooney from Applied AI, who will explain the coding language R in detail and its uses within data science.

It’s a strictly ticketed event and you can apply for any remaining tickets on the conference’s website here.
