A beginner’s guide to thwarting hackers (infographic)

Hackers can cause a lot of damage, but more knowledge about how they operate allows consumers to be better able to protect themselves against cyber attacks, as a new infographic illustrates.

The infographic by Security Coverage that’s published on Visual.ly maps out the different ways hackers access sensitive information – including offline – and what they do with that information once it’s in their little hacker hands.

More specifically, the infographic looks at why passwords are stolen, the potential uses of breached passwords, how passwords are stolen, and even what has been hacked in the worst security breaches in history.
