AXA creates online claims facility for solicitors and staff

AXA has invested in a new online claims management solution that will be accessed by almost 500 solicitors and AXA staff.

The system uses pTools content management system (CMS) software to automate key claims management processes and procedures, as well as cost calculations, delivering major efficiencies and cost savings.

AXA typically has thousands of claims outstanding at any one time, involving communications with tens of thousands of claimants. Padraic Mills, director of IT, administration and procurement at AXA Ireland, said the new system has made claims processing much more efficient and delivered substantial cost savings.

“The system also provides the ability to manage the large volume of documentation generated by the department, as well as having tight security features and compliance with existing systems,” Mills said.

Following a careful selection process, pTools was chosen to provide its CMS, having satisfied the appraisal team’s criteria and not suffering from the pitfalls of other systems examined.

“After a detailed selection process, pTools was chosen because it ticked every box and already has a proven track record delivering highly effective CMS for a number of other large organisations,” Mills continued.

The management information produced by the system allows AXA to gather real-time information about the ‘basket of claims’ that are live, as well as historical comparisons.

Information uploaded integrates seamlessly with internal AXA systems, presenting claims information directly to the AXA staff desktop for further processing.

“AXA Atlas is a multi-tiered, web-based application that allows solicitors to perform critical claims management tasks in a highly efficient manner,” the managing director of pTools,Tom Skinner (pictured), said.

“It uses pTools software to deliver a rich transaction content environment that is fully secure, and presents a usable interface to professionals associated with the claims process. The resulting efficiencies and cost reductions were apparent from day one and have been significant.

“The system ensures a standardised and compliant process, and real-time management information for AXA business,” Skinner added.
