22 Mar 2011

Eircom has been awarded ISO 27001 certification for its Clonshaugh data centre in north Dublin, which proves it adheres to the highest standards of information security.

ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) is the world’s largest developer and publisher of international standards. Specifically, the ISO 27001 standard is a globally recognised information security management system (ISMS) standard.

ISO 27001 specifies the requirements for a business to establish, implement, review, monitor, manage and maintain an effective information security management system.

“We have the largest team of security professionals in Ireland and ISO 27001 Certification is very important to us as it demonstrates our commitment to protecting our customers’ valuable information assets by maintaining the most stringent procedures governing security, resilience and business continuity,” said Ronan Kneafsey, director, Eircom Business.
