The French finance ministry has confirmed it was the subject of a cyber attack from hackers in December 2010.
It is understood that the hackers were targeting G20 documents and that up to 150 computers were hacked.
A senior official in the finance ministry told Paris-Match magazine that a certain amount of information was redirected to Chinese sites.
Budget Minister Francois Baroin, meanwhile, has said an investigation is under way into the source of the attacks, adding, “We have leads”.
