How safe is your PIN? (infographic)

12 Oct 2012

Most of us have heard and read stories about password security, but what about personal identification numbers (PIN)s? A new infographic takes a closer look at those four digits we use to do things like access ATMs or make a credit card transaction and how to keep them safe.

The infographic by backgroundcheck.org that’s published on Visual.ly illustrates the PIN basics, interesting facts, an analysis of PINs, the most-used PINs and the least-used PINs, and how to keep your PINs secure.

For instance, 1234 is the most popular PIN, and nearly half of respondents to a survey admitted to freely sharing their PIN with other people.
