Irish Life deploys major new claims and disability system

30 Jun 2011

Irish technology companies ClaimVantage and Version 1 have delivered a group life and disability claim system – integrated with multiple legacy systems – for Irish Life.

ClaimVantage, the international provider of claims administration software, today announced the successful completion of its largest project to date.

Working with Version 1, a leading IT consulting and services company, the project was delivered on time and within budget in partnership with the Irish Life project team.

Faced with a dated and cumbersome claim system, Irish Life, the leading group benefits provider in Ireland, looked to take advantage of new technologies to support their customers and brokers.

The ClaimVantage Solution in partnership with Version 1 was selected to replace the existing claims processing system to support life and disability claims on one claim platform.

“This project was very important to Irish Life as it posed a number of challenges,” explained Paul O’Neill, Irish Life’s IT director.

“The existing systems could not support the business going forward, there was duplication of data, and system inter-dependencies, as well as many manual handoffs in the claim process.

“The new system has already improved the claim flow process and we are now in a position to enable new technologies to push information to our customers and brokers. The web-based access to the application is not a bonus – it’s essential to how we equip and train our associates.”

Leo Corcoran, ClaimVantage CEO, added: “From a business perspective, it was critical to use one system to process multiple claim types (group life and disability). It opens the door to improved customer service, improved business process and automation of the claim process built around logical work rules.”
