Dublin mobile service infrastructure firm MobileAware has entered into the emerging software as a service (SaaS) market and has signed a deal with portal player EnerConnect to provide business on-demand products.

MobileAware’s mobile self-service and mobile workforce products will form key component of EnterConnect’s business-on-demand marketplace www.soaapps.com.

EnterConnect’s portal is targeted at businesses seeking rapid time-to-value software applications and MobileAware’s technology will be available to firms who want to rapidly extend mobile services to employees, customers and business partners.

“Our goal is to empower line of business executives to deploy on-demand applications faster while gaining better business results,” commented Sam Jankovich, Chief Executive Officer of EnterConnect.

“MobileAware’s market-leading SaaS mobile offering represents an essential part of soaapps.com. It provides businesses with an excellent opportunity to rapidly incorporate mobility into their existing business systems and leverage it to achieve measurable business benefits,” Jankovich added.

The SaaS model is transforming the overall software landscape, providing companies with an immediate, low-risk and low-cost alternative to traditional licensed software.

According to analyst firm Gartner, the worldwide SaaS market will be worth $19.3bn by year-end 2011, with 25pc of new business software being delivered within a SaaS model.
