IT firms in the running for Best Managed Company Award

19 Oct 2010

Irish IT firms from all 32 counties have been recognised in the Best Managed Companies Awards, which awards companies that operate at the highest level of business performance.

Deloitte, in association with Irish Life Corporate Business (ILCB), made the announcement that six Irish IT firms are in the running to be listed among Ireland’s Best Managed Companies.

Strategic objectives

The 6 companies that were shortlisted go through to the second phase of the competition where they must demonstrate to the judging panel how their organisations are meeting their strategic objectives and adding value to their businesses, working with Deloitte and ILCB in the process.

“We have been delighted with the response to the awards. From over 100 companies, these (6) companies have been put through to the next stage of the competition because they are all in with an excellent chance of receiving a Best Managed Company designation. To reach this stage is an achievement in itself. The competition is very tight, and we are very excited to see who will emerge as winners,” said Kevin Sheehan, partner, Deloitte.

The companies hail from different locations including: 3 Dublin firms, 2 Antrim firms and 1 Limerick firm.

Strategy, capability, commitment, finances and growth potential will all be examined when judging the companies as they attempt to progress to the next stage of the competition.

It is the only awards programme that considers a business’ performance from every perspective, not just financial.

A recent study conducted by Deloitte found that a certain amount of businesses are undervaluing their IT departments and companies do not consider as value adding partners.

The shortlisted companies are:
Aepona – Antrim
Enet – Limerick
Ergo – Dublin
Helix Health Ltd – Dublin
SLA Mobile – Antrim
TNS Distribution – Dublin
