KeepITsafe invests €50k in data centre infrastructure

Provider of online data backup keepITsafe has completed the €50,000 in its data centre infrastructure, finishing the private fibre connection that will bolster its online service.

An investment of this scale makes keepITsafe the only online backup firm in Ireland to invest at this scale between both of its data centres at Digiweb and Data Electronics.

The end result is that the two backup services at both ends of Dublin city will constantly communicate and sync with each other, making data fully recoverable from both sites so should something happen at one centre the data is fully accessible and recoverable from the other 24/7.

“This IT investment was inevitable due to the large growth of customers and also the growth in data from existing customers. Our current investment future proofs our infrastructure, making sure that we keep our guarantee to our clients and corporate business customers,” said Jonathan Crowe, technical director, keepITsafe.

The completion of this investment follows the recent awarding of the ISO 27001 certification earlier this year that made keepITsafe only the second Irish data centre and hosting provider to achieve this.

“Data security is our core business and it is crucial to the longevity of our service that we utilise the most advanced technology there is to make sure our customers are getting the fastest responses possible” added Crowe.
