Google has confirmed there has been a major outage on its Apps and Gmail email services, and said the company is working to get it up and running again.

In a statement, Google confirmed a number of users are having difficulty accessing Gmail.

“We’re working to resolve the problem. We know how important Gmail is to our users, so we take issues like this very seriously and we apologise for the inconvenience.”

The company said that anyone having technical difficulty can visit the Gmail Help Centre, where the company is posting status updates on the situation.

The company confirmed Google Apps users are also affected.

Google Apps users experiencing problems should visit the Google Apps Help Centre to see status updates and to contact the Google Apps support team.
