Cloudstrong.ie is a new Galway start-up that is focusing on the burgeoning cloud computing space. Now employing six people, the company offers automated cloud management services to companies.

Daryl Byrne founded the start-up following the merger of two companies, Custom Software Solutions and ICON Solutions. Cloudstrong is based at the Innovation in Business Centre at Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology.

Byrne himself has over 10 years’ experience in the IT sector. Before setting up Cloudstrong he spent four years specialising in cloud management at ICON Solutions as the company’s technical director.

The company’s new sales director is David Waldron, who previously worked as head of sales at O2.

One company that Cloudstrong has already helped migrate to the cloud is Horizon West, an engineering technical service provider that’s based in Westport, Co Mayo. It was set up in 2010 by a group of engineers.
