National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) has launched a 3-in-1 Business Excellence Package of standards and guidelines that gives Irish businesses information on having a greater chance of commercial success, on achieving a competitive advantage and to show they are operating to corporate government standards.
The NSAI’s Business Excellence Package combines standards and guidelines on risk management, corporate governance and innovation and product development.
“The 3-in-1 Business Excellence Package was developed as part of NSAI’s focus on enabling trade and enterprise in Ireland,” said Maurice Buckley, CEO of NSAI.
Buckley said companies who can systematically identify with effective management of risk will out perform their competitors and that companies who undertake independent assessment of their corporate government procedures will ‘send clear signals that they are operating to the best standards in corporate governance.’
“By following the guidelines on innovation and product development, companies can focus their resources in developing innovative solutions for their businesses,” said Buckley.
“Combined, this package will help companies consider what opportunities will provide the best chance of business success and how they should be developed to maximise benefit to the company.”
The Business Excellence Package includes the National Guidance on Implementing I.S. ISO 31000:2009 Risk Management Principles and Guidelines, the SWiFT 3000:2010 Code of Practice for Corporate Governance Assessment in Ireland and the Guide to Good Practice in Innovation and Product Development Processes.
It is available at online and costs €90.
