O2 and Fujitsu Siemens have joined forces to roll out a bundled mobile package for SMEs including a Fujitsu Siemens laptop, 10Mb of mobile data on O2’s nationwide network and 60 minutes of wireless LAN connectivity at any of its 20 hotspots on a monthly basis from €99 per month.

The fee is chargeable over a 36 month period and the package includes pre-installed Microsoft Office applications.

The mobile package includes a Fujitsu Siemens Computers notebook, 10Mb of mobile data usage per month on the O2 network (equates to approximately 100 standard 5Kb emails per working day). The package includes 60 minutes of Wireless LAN connectivity at O2’s 20 Wi-Fi Hotspots nationwide, per month.

The choice of laptop is the Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook C110 Series (€99) or Lifebook S6120 (€109) ex Vat. Both notebooks are powered by Intel Centrino Mobile Technology and the mobile data card is activated by O2.

The package also has pre-installed Microsoft Office applications and web and telephone support and is supplied with a protective notebook carry case.

According to O2 partner programme manger Liz Caughey, the objective of the offer is to enable SMEs to engage in mobile working technologies without having to stump up a lot of capital upfront. “This enables them to take advantage of mobile working in one complete package. The setup is straightforward and there is also helpdesk support available from O2 and Fujitsu Siemens. This is not a lease package, customers will own the laptop after 36 months.”

Fujitsu Siemens’ Liam Halpin said he observed a growing demand for such mobility packages. “Seamless connectivity is vital for business users today,” he said.
