Offsite backup for Microsoft Navision now automated

8 Dec 2008

Online backup provider keepITsafe has engineered a piece of software that can fully manage and back up Microsoft Dynamics Nav.

The company said this is the only fully automated offsite backup solution for Microsoft Navision on the market today.

The solution automates the backup process by using the built-in backup function of Navision. It allows systems administrators to concentrate on more value-added tasks, rather than mundane backup chores.

Companies such as Origo, Sysco, Odenberg, HeaveyRF, Eircom and William Cox are using the keepITsafe Navision backup.

“The keepITsafe Backup Utility is used to automatically check the consistency of the Navision data inside the SQL Server. Data can be restored quickly and gives our customers the crucial consistency check that their data is continuously being monitored in a secure environment,” explained Charlie Donnelly, managing director, Sysco Software Solutions.

The keepITsafe software automates the full backup process by encrypting the data, and all new data is transferred securely offsite to the keepITsafe data centres located in Dublin.

The keepITsafe Navision backup solution guarantees the consistency of the database backup. All information is stored on Dell RAID configured servers, mirrored to a secondary site for full redundancy and protected by the keepITsafe €1m Data Protection Guarantee.
