Power outage knocks Salesforce.com offline

10 Jul 2012

Cloud computing giant Salesforce.com is offline after a power outage. Services for the online CRM provider began being disrupted at around 12.49am (PDT) this morning and have since been offline in Europe.

According to trust.salesforce.com, the company’s customer information portal, the company is working to resolve issues affecting search infrastructure on NA1, NA5, CS6, CS1 and CS3 servers.

The last update said standard Salesforce.com reporting, contacts, updates, and case entry services are available “but you will experience sporadic search performance degradations.”

At the time of writing, the main Salesforce.com page was offline.

The forerunner of software-as-a-service, Salesforce.com has more than 86,000 corporate customers and 2.1m subscribers worldwide.

This is understood to be the second major outage in a number of weeks on Salesforce.com.
