Storage giant Veritas Software to open Irish office

29 Jul 2004

US data storage vendor Veritas Software has announced it is to open a new office based in Dublin.

Veritas Software is already well established in the Irish market with a large client base and successful reseller channel model. The new office is intended to ‘add value’ to its both customers and channel partners by having a local presence.

The Dublin office will be managed by Lorcan Kavanagh, who has 15 years experience of business development in the UK and Ireland. “This is confirmation of our commitment to the Irish market. Developing relationships with the customer base in Ireland will allow us to demonstrate the value that Veritas Software can provide. This customer-focused approach has helped us grow to be one of the top ten software companies worldwide,” said Kavanagh.

The Dublin office will also have a technical pre-sales function, which will be handled by a second experience executive, Matt Brookes.

Steven Rose, UK managing director at Veritas Software, commented: “Dublin is a natural choice to open the next Veritas office. A booming economy and the presence of so many multinational corporations provide an ideal opportunity.”

With 6,700 employees worldwide and 2003 revenues of US$1.75bn, California-based Veritas develops software for data protection, storage and server management.

The company yesterday reported second-quarter revenues of US$475m.
