18 May 2011

A new cloud computing centre of excellence opened by software development company TEKenable will create 20 high-quality roles in Dublin over the next 12 months.

TEKanable claims the centre of excellence is the first its kind in the Irish marketplace and is focusing initially on supporting Windows Azure as the primary cloud development platform.

The 20 new jobs will cover the areas of business analysis, project management, software development and support.

TEKenable has made a policy of only hiring highly skilled and experienced technical people in the areas of Windows Azure, Java and .Net. The centre of excellence is recruiting technical talent from abroad too – with people coming from all over the world to be part of this team.

Speaking at the official opening of the new centre, Peter Rose, Director of TEKenable said: “With staff numbers at 40, we are now a significant player in cloud development services in the Irish market and in some international markets.

“We have already completed some very exciting new projects entirely using the cloud platform and the interest from both the public and private sectors in Ireland is very strong.

“Our focus on partnering with leading vendors like Microsoft, Sungard and Eircom, along with our commitment to employing the best people to service our customers has been very successful and we feel confident there will be further strong growth for TEKenable over the next year.”
