Testing times as Insight eyes €2bn UK market

26 May 2006

One of the largest software quality and testing providers in Ireland, Insight Test Services, is to expand into the UK software test market, which is estimated to be worth more than €2bn.

Insight recently appointed Susan Windsor, a leading UK software test expert, as chair of the company as part of an expansion strategy. In her new role she will review and advise on the company’s business plan for development of the UK market and will also identify strategic resources and supports required for Insight’s continuing growth, as well as identifying potential clients and partners.

The UK team will be led by David Hughes, an Insight director who has more than 25 years’ experience in IT, including 20 years in software quality management and business process improvement.

Insight managing director Declan Kavanagh called the move “a logical development” to the company’s work in the Irish market over the past two years. He added that the company already provides services to some of its Irish-based multinational clients in the UK.

Kavanagh said the company had been developing rapidly in Ireland, with compound annual growth rates in excess of 70pc. Insight employs more than 90 staff at its Dublin offices. These are involved in software quality, assurance, testing and validation.

The company’s customer base includes multinationals, small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurial startups in the ICT, financial and life sciences sectors as well as public services organisations. The firm helps its clients to develop and implement quality software and ensure compliance to best practice and regulatory requirements.
