The wait was over for 58,000 Leaving Cert students this week who were able to access their results securely and privately online
The Leaving Cert is probably the most traumatic exam students in Ireland will ever experience, but the wait for results was over this week and the delivery of results online was achieved thanks to a collaboration between Viatel and the State Examinations Commission.
This week the Leaving Cert results of 57,929 students were privately and securely posted online on the State Examinations Commission’s (SEC) website.
Viatel created and designed the hosting solution to be completely secure with SSL encryption technology.
This, along with its load-balancing capabilities on the network, ensures the SEC website will always be able to handle extremely high volumes of traffic on exam result days and always delivers A-grade results.
The SEC is responsible for the accreditation and certification of exams in Ireland, with students and teachers alike relying on access to the website for day-to-day use and also to provide the all-important examination results.
The SEC’s hosting solution provided by Viatel has a guaranteed network uptime of 99.99pc, which meant every student could access their information immediately and securely over the internet with zero downtime or delay.
