Web firm offers free hosting to small firms

Web hosting provider IE Internet.com has revealed plans to offer members of the Small Firms Association (SFA) free web hosting and free .com domain registration for one year.

Under the offer, all SFA members are eligible to receive a domain name and IE Internet’s SOHO (small office, home office) plan, which is a tailored hosting package to suit small businesses. The SOHO plan, which normally costs €146 (plus Vat) per year, comes with website hosting space, branded email and virus protection.

“By removing price concerns and focusing instead on the valuable return to their business we are encouraging SFA members to take their business online,” said Orlaith Finnegan of IE Internet.com.

Pat Delaney, director of the Small Firms Association, welcomed the initiative as “an opportunity for SFA members to launch their online presence.”

Delaney added: “Becoming part of the e-business economy is no longer a choice – it is a necessity. For small businesses in particular it provides an opportunity to gain critical exposure in an increasingly competitive marketplace.”
