Oxfam Ireland’s new Born Again initiative offers refurbished computers for sale in-store and online for a fraction of their original price.

Each computer has been restored, tested and supplied with a new operating system and applications. Prices for desktop computers start at €120 and refurbished laptops start at €180.

Each computer comes with a six-month warranty and the Oxfam Ireland online store has divided the offerings up into three categories: those suitable for students (Surfer), families (Plus) or business users (Pro).

“It’s a win-win situation,” said Oxfam Ireland’s director of trading Trevor Anderson. “Customers get a high-quality desktop or laptop that they might not otherwise be able to afford, while recycling computers is environmentally friendly and diverts them away from local landfill.”

Sale of these computers will go towards helping Oxfam Ireland’s work in communities around the world, including its emergency response teams in Syria and long-term development projects and campaigns.
