Microsoft has revealed that the Surface Hub collaboration screen will go on sale on 1 July in 24 countries
Microsoft’s new large-screen collaboration device Surface Hub will be available in 24 countries from 1 July at prices ranging from €8,000 for the 55-inch version to €22,449 for the 84-inch version.
Revealed in January alongside Windows 10 and Microsoft’s HoloLens VR headset, the Surface Hub is a large-screen device that includes built-in cameras, sensors and microphones that will enable teams to collaborate virtually, across buildings, cities, countries and continents in real-time.
The Surface Hub features state-of-the-art digital white boarding, instant remote conferencing, the ability for multiple people to share and edit content on the screen from a laptop, tablet or phone, and a trusted platform for large-screen apps.
Specifically the Surface Hub is designed to harness the power of Windows 10, Skype for Business, Office, OneNote and Universal Windows apps.
“While there are a number of devices designed to improve our productivity as individuals, there has yet to be a device that is truly optimised for a group of people to use together — designed not just for what we need to do, but how we want to work. Until now,” said Patrick Ward, Microsoft Ireland’s Windows business group lead.
“Just as the PC revolutionised productivity for individuals, Surface Hub will transform the way groups of people work together.”
Surface Hub is available in two main configurations: Surface Hub 55-inch for €7,999, and Surface Hub 84-inch for €22,449.
