The future is truly now folks! While eating fried chicken and creating photographs were once considered separate things entirely, the good people at KFC have used the technology at their disposal to finally allow customers to instantly print snaps of themselves enjoying their calorie-stuffed meals.

As pointed out by The Verge, this incredibly unnecessary gadget is called the Memories Bucket and has been released in Canada, where KFC is celebrating its 60th anniversary. The bucket connects to users’ smartphones via Bluetooth, allowing them to print polaroids as they eat.

KFC has yet to announce how its Canadian clientele can get their hands on one of the special buckets, but the company has released a demonstration video, which you can watch below.

This is not the first time KFC has released some somewhat barmy tech. It just recently unveiled the KFC Tray Typer keyboard, an ultra-thin Bluetooth keyboard that connects to a person’s phone, allowing them to type messages without needing to touch the screen with their greasy fingers. The company’s Japanese outfit has also produced its own keyboards, mouse, USB sticks and 3D-printed earrings as part of a social media campaign.
