Apple is gearing up for domination in the streaming TV space with a new dedicated Apple TV App Store

Apple is tipped to be debuting a new generation Apple TV set-top box in September, along with its own App Store and Siri support. Yes, soon you will be talking with your Apple TV.

Apple is expected to launch the new Apple TV with a new remote control device as well as support for Siri voice control.

The new Apple TV is expected to have a slimmer chassis and increased storage.

The new remote is expected to include touch pad input, according to BuzzFeed.

Indicating Apple is doubling down on its efforts to storm the streaming and broadcasting world, the company is launching a dedicated App Store for TV and movie content as well as a software development kit for developers.

Apple hasn’t refreshed the Apple TV device since 2013 and it had been expected to unveil the new device at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June.

The streaming market is heating up considerably when you consider the success of Netflix’s strategy of creating its own movies and box set series.

In recent days, Amazon secured a deal estimated to be worth US$250m with former Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May to run three seasons of a yet-to-be-named car show on Amazon Prime Video.
