Are your iPhone 6 Plus photos a bit blurry? Apple will replace your phone if eligible

Apple has said it is willing to replace some iPhone 6 Plus smartphones that may have a defective camera sensor on the back of their device that leads to blurry photos.

“Apple has determined that, in a small percentage of iPhone 6 Plus devices, the iSight camera has a component that may fail, causing your photos to look blurry.”

Apple said the affected units fall into a limited serial number range and were sold primarily between September 2014 and January 2015.

“If your iPhone 6 Plus is producing blurry photos and falls into the eligible serial number range, Apple will replace your device’s iSight camera, free of charge,” the company said.

Apple iPhone 6 Plus replacement plan

Owners of iPhone 6 devices who suspect their phone’s camera isn’t producing the right kind of photos can see if their phone is eligible for replacement by submitting their device’s serial number here.

If the device is deemed potentially defective users can begin the replacement process by contacting either their authorised service provider, their local Apple retail store or Apple technical support.

Launched in September last year, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have been roaring successes for Apple, celebrated for their innovative design, useful sizes and, indeed, high-quality camera sensors.

Android saw a decline in almost every market worldwide as a result of the success of Apple’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus devices, according to new research.
