iPhone 6s and 6s Plus Ireland release date set for 9 October

28 Sep 2015

Those who have been anxious to hear when the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus Ireland release date was can now rest easy knowing it has been confirmed for 9 October.

The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus Ireland release date was revealed on the Irish version of the Apple website, with the mobile networks keen to begin selling contracts with the new iPhone.

Along with Ireland, Apple also confirmed that most of Europe and Taiwan will be the first international markets to receive the phone.

The following day, the phone will become available in the Middle East and then India, Malaysia and Turkey on 16 October, with it set to be available in more than 130 countries by the end of 2015.

Like clockwork, the new phones released by Apple have broken their sales records, selling 13m units just three days after they launched.

While looking almost identical physically to the previous iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the newer models sport some additional internal improvements, including a 12MP camera, the company’s new A9 processor and, of course, the new rose gold colour case.

In terms of cost, the iPhone 6s 16GB will start at €759, increasing to €869 for the 64GB and €979 for the 128GB model.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 6s Plus with an identical storage capacity to the iPhone 6s will start at €869, followed by €979 and finally €1,089.

The latest Apple product to be sold in Ireland was the Apple Watch, which officially went on sale here last Friday following on from its US launch last April.

However, the next major Apple release scheduled will be to the Mac OS X, which is due to see the launch of El Capitan on Wednesday.
