The new app will allow Eir subscribers to watch up to 50 live TV channels including RTÉ One, TV3, UTV Ireland and BBC One on mobile devices

Eir has launched a new on-the-go TV app called Eir Vision Go that will compete with Sky’s rival app Sky Go.

The new app will allow Eir subscribers to watch up to 50 live TV channels, including  RTÉ One, TV3, UTV Ireland, BBC One, Setanta Ireland and many more on Android and iOS devices.

The company said users can stream as much TV as they like on 3G and 4G mobile devices without it affecting their data plans.

Users can subscribe to the new Eir Vision Go app by registering on eir.ie

The move ups the ante against rivals Sky and Virgin Media, which both have their own respective on-the-go apps for mobile phones

“Eir Vision Go allows our customers to stream their favourite TV channels on their mobile device.  We are really excited to be the first and only TV on-the-go app in the market to allow customers to stream BBC channels while out and about.”
