Ever wanted to shoot fireballs from your wrist? Well now you can

Okay, now this is an impressive yet equally dangerous gift. Called the Pyro mini, a €140 gadget can turn the palm of your hand into a flame-shooting weapon, if you use it in a way that goes completely against the advice of the manufacturer.

Made by a company called Ellusionist, the Pyro mini is the second iteration of the gadget, which shoots smokeless fireballs from your wrist at a ridiculous range of 12 metres, if you are so inclined.

Of course, it has to be said straight off the bat that its target market is not a 12-year-old kid whose sole hobby is to burn ants with a magnifying glass, but rather those hard-working folk in the entertainment industry who would use fire in their performances.

According to BGR, the kit is pretty simple, using a wireless controller to activate the flames, which itself is activated by a specially cut piece of flash paper.

Once the wireless receiver is activated, it will set off the piece of flash paper, firing it from the user’s wrist in a pretty impressive firework display.

Once it’s fired, you just reload it with a bit of cotton and another flash paper, but this process isn’t exactly perfect, according to the writer who tested it, who said that Ellusionist advises that you test it at least 20 or 30 times before strapping it to your person.

Given that it’s there to impress audiences at magic shows and whatnot, it can be used indoors once the person knows what the hell they’re doing, of course.

You can even fire in burst mode to get two shots off at once for added effect. From watching the promotional video, you have to say that the flames and card trick combination actually make magic a bit cool again, and not the work of someone who has one trick they show at house parties over and over again.

I think I can speak for most gaming enthusiasts when I say that all I want to do is Ryu’s Hadouken from Street Fighter.
