Skype is doubling down for a battle royale against usurpers like WhatsApp
A new Skype update for Android devices has made it possible for users to save video messages indefinitely, quickly and easily.
The update, Skype 6.11 for Android, allows users to simply save a video message by tapping on it and selecting ‘Save to Gallery.’
Users can also manage conversations better by long tapping on a contact or chat in the Recents tab to bring up a new toolbar to delete, mark as read or mute notifications.
Skype adds Moji sharing and more
The update also includes an Enhanced Search feature that allows users to search for conversation content in addition to contacts and group names.
Users can also share photos from their photo gallery directly to a Skype group conversation and send images and files to another contact or group.
Skype has also upgraded Mojis – essentially mini video clips – that can now be forwarded on to another group or friend who can decide if they want to play the Moji or not by just tapping on it.
If we didn’t know better it would be fair to assume Skype is doubling down for a battle royale against usurpers like WhatsApp.
