Apple Watch 2 and 4-inch iPhone 6c tipped for March 2016 event

Apple special events are taking on the rhythm of bi-annual affairs

Apple is planning a March 2016 event at which it will reveal its second-generation Apple Watch, which will ship in April. The company is also understood to be working on a four-inch display iPhone 6c.

Citing people familiar with the plans, 9to5mac’s Mark Gurman said the Californian tech giant has been working on new camera, wireless sleep tracking and health sensor technologies for the second-generation Apple Watch.

This follows on the heels of the introduction of watchOS 2 and a whole host of new bands, including Watch Face and strap collaborations with fashion brand Hermès, which were unveiled at a special event in September.

A new rhythm in Apple’s groove

In fact, Apple special events are now happening twice a year, with WWDC occurring in between.

At a special event in March 2015, the company revealed the Apple Watch for the first time along with a 12-inch MacBook and ResearchKit.

In September, it revealed watch OS 2 along with the new iPhone 6s and the iPad Pro.

The launch of an iPhone 6c is an interesting proposition in that it would make use of the same four-inch displays used in the iPhone 5s and iPod touch media device and potentially make the latest generation of iPhone devices more accessible financially.

As usual, only Apple really knows.
