Apple is searching for and has promised a fix for a bug that is causing the battery percentage level to be displayed incorrectly on its flagship iPhone 6s and 6s Plus smartphones.

Users have discovered that the percentage level on affected phones won’t update.

It has issued a number of steps that include restarting the iPhone or ensuring that ‘Set Automatically’ is turned on for Date & Time within Settings (Settings > General > Date & Time).

“Apple is aware of this issue and is investigating the cause and a solution,” the company said.

It is understood that iPhone owners have been flagging the issue since September.

Apple is due to release a major iOS 9.3 update that could potentially resolve the problem.
