Apple is expected to launch a variety of new devices in March
The eagerly-awaited launch of new products from Apple may take place the week of 21 March, before a federal court hearing with the FBI, according to reports.
The launch was expected to take place on 15 March and it is unclear whether the date was moved to the week of 21 March or if that was the plan all along.
Apple is currently embroiled in a tense stand-off with FBI investigators over the issue of creating a back door into iPhone devices, a compromise that could undermine the entire fabric of privacy for millions of people.
The company has been ordered by a court to help crack the iPhone of the deceased Syed Farook who, along with his wife Tashfeen Malik, killed 14 people and injured 22 others in San Bernardino, California, in December.
The California tech giant is expected to launch a new 4in iPhone 5se, which will have a 12Mp camera, as well as a new 9.7in iPad Pro featuring a A9X chip, and possibly the second generation of the Apple Watch.
According to BuzzFeed, Apple will launch the new products on 21 March, a day prior to the 22 March showdown with US government officials.
Whether the date change is by clever design or not, it is unusual for the tech giant to hold launch events on a Monday as these events typically take place mid-week.
The event is expected to be on a smaller scale than the last one, which was held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.
